New host records of coccids in flower and medicinal crops in Tamil Nadu, India

Coccids (Scales and\r\nmealy bugs) have attained serious pest status on a wide range of host plants.\r\nThey have been recorded from 60 plant species of flower and medicinal crops.\r\nMost of these belong to the families of Malvaceae, Solanaceae, Asteraceae,\r\nEuphorbiaceae, and Amaranthaceae economic damage was observed on flower and\r\nmedicinal crops. Major species observed are Phenacocccus solenopsis Tinsley,\r\nP. madeirensis (Green) Rastrococcus iceryoides (Green)\r\nNipaecoccus viridis (Green) Dysmicoccus brevipes (Ckll.),Coccidohystrix\r\ninsolita (Green) Labioproctus polei (Green) Saissetia coffeae\r\n(Walker) Saissetia oleae (Bernard) Parasaissetia nigra Nietner\r\nCeroplastes ceriferus (Fabricius) Megapulvinaria maxima (Green)\r\nEucalymnatus stellatus (Signoret) Cerococcus indicus Maskell\r\nCeroplastodes cajanii (Maskell) Hemilecanium imbricans (Green)\r\nAonidiella aurantii (Maskell) Hemiberlesia lataniae (Signoret)\r\nIcerya aegyptiaca (Douglas) I. purchasi Maskell and Conchaspis\r\nangraeci (Ckll.)
